  • What is the Student Essay Bursary?

The annual student essay bursary provides Alberta Junior and Senior high school students with an excellent opportunity to showcase their writing abilities, to express their opinions and secure scholarship money for their post-secondary education or money for educational materials. AASRO encourages the future leaders of our communities to examine important issues and express their views for all of us to listen.

 

  • When are the topics for the annual Student Essay released to the public?

The Student Essay topics for both the junior high and senior high categories are usually released on this website in early January of every year. The deadline on the contest usually follows in early May. This provides students with four months to write an essay they want to enter. The information on topics and guidelines will also be released in a poster/information sheet. All information on the current essay contest can be accessed by clicking on the Students link on the left menu.
